Use the Headset Buddy Adapter and your existing computer headset with Cisco-based phones that have a headset jack. (will not work with the handset jack)
A big productivity enhancer for home businesses, call centers, sales people,or anyone who is on the phone all the time, but doesn't want to buy two headsets, one for the computer, and one for the phone.
Specs: This amazing adaptor converts the standard headset 3.5mm mic/audio plugs to a standard RJ9, RJ10, or RJ22 4P4C Cisco headset plug, allowing you to use your favorite computer/laptop headset with your Cisco-based office phone. Will not work with the handset jack. Outputs binaural sound for stereo headsets, meaning you will hear sound out of both ears.
Does not work with RJ11 jack, which is wider than your handset or headset jack (6 positions vs. 4). RJ11 jack is what is in the wall. RJ9, RJ10, RJ22 are what is on your phone handset or headset.
Does not work with standard phones, handset jack, Nortel, Aastra, and many other brands. Please see other Headset Buddy model 01-PC35-RJ9 that works with most phones.

Can be used for Polycom phones as wellNov 30, 2010
By A. Rublinetsky I was able to use this cable for Polycom phone as well. Polycom phones use different wiring, but by connecting microphone jack to green connector and headphone jack to pink connector (which is reverse from how it is labeled) it was possible to use this cable on Polycom.
Headset Buddy-Good ProductFeb 07, 2012
By Micheal L I ordered this to adapt a pc headset to an XBOX controller. It works great. just what I needed. Thanks!
Pricey but worksJan 31, 2012
By The Grumpy Hacker A little pricey, but cheaper than a whole new headset, and it does work with my Cisco 7940 and the Plantronics headset I use on my PC for Skype & GTalk.
Brilliant!Jan 30, 2012
By Richard Boyd I decided to replace my old Plantronics headset at work with a better, nicer, and cheaper p.c. headset. Problem was that I must use an older company phone system, that my old headset plugged into and which has a rj10 plug on a Plantronics volume controller, which has a separate input that I have connected to a music player (that only I can hear). Also, p.c. headsets only come with 3.5mm jacks, or usb. This little adapter worked, and matched up the headset to the phone system perfectly! Now, I've got a much better p.c. style headset that I can listen to both my customers and music with, as well as talk clearly through the older phone system ...

Difficulties with Polycom PhonesJan 11, 2012
By Julie A Bethany This product doesn't appear to work with Polycom phones. We attempted to switch the cables as suggested by A Rublinetsky but only the party using the headset had audio. I emailed marie@webkollc.com 1/6/12 to get information on the headset we should be using with Polycom phones but have yet to hear back.
